Anthony Davis, a big man for the Lakers, sprained his left ankle halfway through the first quarter and was unable to play again for Los Angeles against Golden State on Wednesday.
As he was making his way through the paint toward the Lakers basket, Davis took an uncomfortable step, rolled his ankle, and left the game with 4:48 left. At first, he was marked as questionable to return after entering the locker room.
When the 6-foot-10 Davis faced Stephen Curry and the Warriors on Christmas Day, he was already doubtful of his ability to play due to a damaged left shoulder.
He missed all three of his field-goal tries and grabbed two rebounds in seven minutes of action.
