Chelsea suffered a serious injury when Levi Colwill was forced to withdraw against AFC Wimbledon on Wednesday night.
The 20-year-old played all three minutes in the Blues’ first three games of the Premier League season and started in the second round of the Carabao Cup at home against the Ligue 2 side tonight.
Colwill appeared to be struggling at the hour mark and was replaced by Malo Gusto after the initial attempt to continue.
Instead of sitting on the bench, Colwill was immediately evaluated by the club’s physiotherapist and then headed down the tunnel towards the dressing room.
England manager Gareth Southgate will also want to be informed of any injuries, with Colwill being part of his next squad to be announced on Thursday ahead of a Euro 2026 qualifier against Ukraine and Scotland. Colwill’s injury will be a major concern for Pochettino, who has been without 10 players.
