The former Chelsea winger is ready to return to England, from his current club Juventus to Tottenham.
Tottenham wants to bring Samuel Illing-Junior, a winger for Juventus, back to the United Kingdom.
After Juventus declared the London-born former Chelsea academy standout available for £15.5 million, a number of teams are showing interest in signing him.
When January rolls around, Illing-Junior’s contract will only have 18 months left. Juventus would want to keep the forward, who recently made his England Under-21 debut, but they will make a profit because the 20-year-old is eager to play more minutes.
Illing-Junior is reportedly the top target for Spurs, who view him as an opportunity rather than a priority signing. Left-sided center backs like Lloyd Kelly, Marc Guehi, and Jean-Clair Todibo are at the top of the list.
However, they continue to look at players in all positions as an injury crisis threatens to undermine Ange Postecoglou’s fantastic start.
Illing-Junior left Chelsea for Juventus in 2020 and has built an impressive CV, making 22 appearances at, arguably, Italy’s biggest club. Most of those senior minutes came last season, but Massimiliano Allegri is now back picking more experienced players so limiting Illing-Junior to four substitute appearances in this campaign.
